I am looking for an 06 and up Pilot to replace my civic. I would like to have at least an EX model with leather being preferred(very much). Navigation and DVD are pluses.

I also prefer Grey interior. I think it would be cool to have 2 Pilots. My wife gets to drive our current Pilot why shouldn't I get one also. Certified is a plus but if it is sold from a private seller it does not matter. I just do not want to deal with some slummy used car place in the Bronx. Maintainence must have been performed to at least Honda standards if not better. VTM-4 fluid must have been changed every 15,000 miles. Since I am looking for a Pilot with under 40,000 miles it being maintained should not be a problem.

I am looking to spend $20,000 or less. I do not think this should be a problem due the economy(gas prices etc). The buy out on my wifes Pilot is 29,000 and hers is still new(this includes tax). When I started that lease I just paid first payment and left with my car.

I have found some that fit my criteria but I just cannot stomach some of these funky colors.

Do you think I am looking for to much car for too little money.

Thank you,
Nick

Nick:

You can't get nav and DVD unless someone added an aftermarket dvd player.

Just did a quick look on cars.com and there are plenty of 06 Pilots with prices listed at less then $20k.

05EXLs are $15k or so.

You should definetly be able to get an 06 exl navi or dvd pilot for 20k or less. I know the value of my 07 exl navi pilot with 17k miles is only 24k, I guess because of the gas prices...so i'm pretty sure you could get great deal.

thanks

I am aware you can only get navi or DVD I meant to say navi or DVD are pluses although i guess navi with after market DVD couldnt hurt either : )

I am noticing that there is alot of value in hondas upscale divisions suv...although I will not mention its name. You can get one of those for about the same as a Pilot

Probably keep an eye on the cars on ebay.

You can still talk to the sellers on ebay and see if you get them to lower their prices.

But if you are not comfortable buying sight unseen, try craigslist also.

New pilot owner, 06 EX-L with DVD and 32k miles. I went a little over your mark at 20.5K. I'm sure I'll get some flames about how I paid to much, but I really think the prices are dependent on car condition as well as location. I'm in Austin, TX and I've noticed to prices in general are a bit higher here that lets say San Antonio and Dallas where prices look to be about 1 or 2k less on average.

That being said, I didn't get the chance to look at these cars so I don't know if I'm really comparing apples to apples. All that being said, I think it's possible to find a nice one under the 20k mark.
