| The dealer installed cross bars on my 2003 pilot right after I purchased it. I can't figure out how to move them. My old Jeep cherokee had them and I just pressed a button to slide them into any position. Do I need a special tool or have the dealer move them whenever I need to change them for whatever I'm carrying? |

Unfortunately you can not adjust them as easily as with the jeep. you need a torx driver or socket to loosen the clamp and then move the cross bar. the 'head' of the screw is on the top surface one on each end of the bar.

| adding to what mike said, i believe the type/size of torx driver you'll need is the T30. i bought mine at sears. |

They are slightly different lengths and do not appear to be designed to be moved the whole length like some vehicles.
The instructions have very specific places for each bar, but I am sure some adjustment will not cause problems. |

| I don't believe its intended to move the cross bars. They are expected to stay put. But, as other have already stated, you can probably adjust them a couple of inchecs either way. |

I moved mine to accommodate my Thule cargo box. I keep them exactly in the same place all of the time.
