| This may seem like a dumb question, but here goes. I have read that pre-2005 Pilots did not have the lame "dead pedal" on the left side of the driver's floor. Is this a removable add-on piece or is it molded into the body sheet-metal? |

| Its molded into the carpet. If you are willing to pay the price or get salvage don't see a reason not to install one. |

| I guess I should have been more succinct. I have an 08 and I'd like to rid myself of the pedal as it eats up legroom. |

| im sure it can be removed, with a little bit of work. where there's a will, there's a way... |

..and where there isn't a will, there's probate.:D
I don't want to pull up the carpet just to discover a saw, grinder, and welder will be required. |

You certainly could try to remove the dead pedal. But, you might want to consider buying the seat extension kit from another of our members here. Check out this link:

I think the current price is $65. I'm 6' 4" and find that having that extra inch or so really makes a big difference. But, be aware that it will raise the seat a small amount (maybe 1/4" as a guess). Installation was pretty easy if you have the tools. His directions are well written and very clear. As I recall, they also specify all of the tools needed for the job too.
Good luck!

I bought one of those kits last month, larry. I'm 6' 10", so I'm still wanting more leg space.
My F250 Crew has the room, the V10 has the zoom, my wallet goes boom. |
