Hi,
I recently purchased an '05 Pilot EX-L. My so-called friend dumped a half-bottle of grape soda all over the passenger's side floor. :3:
Needless to say, the floor mat is ruined. I was able to save the main floor carpet, however. Whew! I used Power Oxy by Turtle Wax with a yellow plastic brush on the applicator.
Anyway, as a near perfectionist I cannot stand to have a stained floor mat in my vehicle. I am having a hard time locating new ones online. A Google search has only revealed after-market versions that don't have the clip holes or Pilot logo. The All-weather one's on H&A Accessories dot com don't do it for me. I need the originals!
The sticker inside my door frame displays the exterior paint as
SAGE BRUSH PEARL
The interior is labeled as FERN.
The codes are listed as follows:
Interior: G (fern)
Exterior: NH-662 P-4 (Sage Brush Pearl)
I am a bit confused because my car actually looks dark metallic gray on the outside paint and a lighter gray for the interior. If I stretch my imagination I guess I can make out a slight greenish tint - but I'm not too convinced. Anyway, I really need at least a passenger's side front floor mat. I don't mind buying both driver's and passenger's mats. Heck, if I can find the right one's I'll get the second row mat too!
If you know where I might find some original floor mats please contact me or leave a post.
If you know why my car looks gray but is actually listed as Sage Brush Pearl and Fern please let me know.
I am going to try and include a couple of pics below.
Thanks,
Charles

Here's another picture of my Pilot EX-L.
Doesn't it look like it's actually a metallic gray? I don't understand where they get "Sage Brush Pearl" from.
In the previous post the interior looks gray to me, too. I don't see "Fern" anywhere. Do you?

Alright, It seems I found the answer to my own question.
I came across this site after changing my Google search terms...
http://www.hondafloormats.com/pilot/
I guess my interior is Fern colored rather than gray. Weird.
Anway, it also appears that new original floor mats are going to cost a small fortune. UGH!
I'd be happy to buy used ones for the right price!
Let me know...

Charles

| I had an 04 white Pilot that had the fern mats in it. I believe I still have them in a black trashbag in the attic. I never used them. I took them out and put some all weather ones in. They never had a set of shoes on them. Would you be interested in buying them. They are brand new with NO wear and NO stains. If interested I will go in the attic and find them. PM me and let me know. :1: |

Oh, wow! Those fern floor mats would be great - except they need to be year-specific. I have an '05 Pilot and the models before and after each have slightly different shaped mats. That's too bad because they would have been perfect otherwise.
I have no doubt that someone in this forum would be interested in those mats.
BTW, what kind of floor mats did you purchase?
I am curious to know what are the best kinds to get.
I live in Massachusetts - where the winters can be wet, slushy, and messy.
Thanks,
Charles
P.S.: You should post a picture on this forum of your mats. |

| I got the Nifty Catch-All carpeted floor inserts. They were great. They are molded and fit the floor and also come up on the sides. You could dump a gallon of milk on them and it would not go anywhere. I lived in WV like you alot of snow, slush and rain. When you wanted to clean them you can scrub them with soap and a stiff scrubbrush. They would look brand new after you cleaned them. They had a rubber backing. Do a google search for them. Try Autoanything.com. If you have any more questions let me know. Are you sure the 04 mats will not fit an 05? :1: |

| 03-04 had no dead pedal while the 05 does have the dead pedal, so no, mats from 03-04 will not fit an 05. |

Do yourself a favor and get a set of Weathertech floor liners! Trust me you will NOT regret it. They are expensive but if you had those when your friend donated that bottle of grape soda to the carpet you would have had no issues..............just pop it out and dump it. I spilled a whole bottle of vitamin water on my passenger side and just popped it out and dumped it like a bowl.
Not to mention through three winters now my carpeting under the mats still looks brand new. |

I checked out those weathertech floorliners. Sweet! But expensive. They look like they'd certainly do the job - especially in slushy New England winters.
It costs $130 for the exact replacement of the OEM Pilot ones -
It's about $150 for Weathertechs.
The OEM ones match perfecty (I need "Fern" colored mats) whereas I'd get a so so match with the weathertechs (Gray would be the closest, I guess).
If I had massive amounts of money I'd get both!
Thanks for the suggestion. |

I think I have what you need. I bought my Pilot used. Unbeknownst to the dealer (or he simply didn't care) the Honda rubber mats were in the trunk of the car along. Since I have kids, I swapped out the rugs with the rubber ones. I thought I would one day swap the carpets back in, but I doubt I'd ever get to it.
Let me go up to the attic and see what condition they're in. They should be like new, or close to it, at worst.
$40? |

Hi Vee!
I am sending you a Private Message regarding your floor mats. I appreciate your reply and I hope to speak with you soon.

I hate to say this but what I would do is go test drive a Honda Pilot just like yours. Be sure to come in with a different vehicle though. And then trade out the mats. They usually leave them in the rear cargo area if they aren't on the floors.
Just an idea. :1: |

Hey Lapdragon!
ROFLMAO!!! Yeah, the thought crossed my mind.
I would rather try and get matching mats an honest way, though, because what goes around comes around.
Have you ever heard of karma?
t's a real thing, dude.
Trust me, I've learned over the years not to screw with karma.
Once, years ago, I took something without permission - and withing 24 hrs. I got a flat tire that cost the same amount as the item I took.
I know of hundreds of examples like that. Besides, I don't want a guilty conscience.
Someone on this board mentioned that they had mats they wanted to sell me but they haven't returned my private message. *hint* *hint*
Someone else mentioned these mats called "Husky's". They seem really nice. If I don't find OEM mats I might check out those or Weathertechs.
New England winters can be very slushy and dirty. UGH! I can't believe summer is almost over.

Being from Dallas, I can't wait for summer to be over!
Anyway, I have an 06 sage brush pearl EXL with a fern interior. Yes, it looks metallic grey on the outside and light grey on the inside. Yes, it's dumb. LoL!
I have the Weathertech floor liners and love them! You don't realize how much stuff gets in your carpet from your feet until you get a floor liner that catches everything. So much stuff gets down into the fibers of the carpet that you don't ever see. This way I know the carpet is protected from spills and accidents but also just good old wear and tear. I literally rubbed a hole through the floormat (even the tougher backing) AND the floor carpeting, exposing the floorpan in about a 3 inch hole in a 96 Camaro that I bought new and drove until October 07, when I bought the Pilot.
Save up for the Weathertechs if you have to. Great buy. |

Yeah, those weathertechs look nice. You may have read that the Husky's are nice too.
If I can get a decent used set of OEM mats I am going to try that route. I just worry that the items will arrive as promised after I send payment.
If nobody offers to sell a set soon than I am just going to get an aftermarket brand. I'm not paying $130 for new OEM mats for a car that's going on 4 years old. Know what I mean?!
Maybe a junkyard will have them? |

| hey I dunno if your still looking but I just got a CPO 05 EXL and it already has the floor mats installed and then I found a second set in the trunk there in great condition, they look new but I think their used but in mint condition. Let me know. I live in Lowell. |
|
|
| SternEdwards |
YES! I am still interested. Although someone else was supposed to sell me a set, they have not gotten back in touch with me in quite some time. I will be going through the Lowell area tomorrow afternoon, as a matter of fact.
I'll send you a private message with my contact info.
BTW, they must be fern, which is "G" in the door frame sticker.
