Hi all,
I searched this forum and couldn't find the exact issue I am having, so here it goes. It is twofold:
I just bought my 05 EX-L Pilot from a private seller. It has 48k miles. I have had it for 2 days. Yes, two days. I bought it knowing it had two minor issues, but a third just occurred and I wanted thoughts on all of these. Thank you in advance...
1) Very small crack in windshield. You can't see it unless you know where it is, about 1/2 inch in length. I think I can get it filled w/o changing windshield. Thoughts?
2) This could be a fuse? The driver side power window works but the auto down/up feature doesn't. The seller told me this prior to the sale. I was thinking in my head it is probably a blown fuse. I read the manual but there is no separate fuse for the auto up/down feature.
3) This issue just happened to me and it is my biggest concern. I was outside detailing the car, with the radio on and engine off. I had it on for about 15 minutes when suddenly the radio shut off. After a few minutes I quickly diagnosed the problem as a dead battery. However, I have a Delphi Freedom Maintenance Free battery. When I see "maintenance free" and no mention of maintenance of the battery in the owner's manual (I asume this is the OEM battery) then it should never need replaced? It has something called a hydrometer and it was showing green (meaning has a charge) prior to me charging it. The Pilot started fine after 30 seconds of charging. I had to reset the radio (it had COdE displaying). So I am confused? Do I need a new battery? I couldn't find anywhere in the manual telling me I needed to maintenance the battery...
Again, thanks in advance. This site is awesome and I am looking forward to putting on all kinds of accessories and after market products.. |

1. Some states require insurance companies to replace broken windshields at no cost to you.
2. One of the most asked about problems that isn't a problem if people would read the manual. Simple raise the window and continue to hold the switch in the up position for a few seconds. Lower the window and hold the switch and that should reset everything.
3. You could always have it load tested but I'd make it easy on yourself and forget the no maintenance, green eye stuff and buy a new battery. |

Thanks...
Man, I feel like an idiot. I swear I searched for issues like that power auto down and didn't find any hits.
I just read the manual, and voila I fixed it after doing what you and the manual suggested...
I was able to start up the Pilot just fine, but I think I will get a new battery to be sure...
As for the windshield, I'll see what my insurance co. says. I'll probably have to tell them it happened after I purchased it.
Thanks a lot. |

| before my oem battery finally died, I had the driver side window issue come up like yours. replace the battery and do the sequence that was described/\. |
