Hi everyone and thanks for the any helpful information to a newbie. Looking to see what Honda recommends for timing belt replacement. Wife has a 04 Pilot with 76500 miles. She is the primary driver and takes the freeway with No traffic in both directions and drives like grandma most of the time.
Thank you again for your responses! |

| Thank you very much Jay. The tech. at Honda who had done all of the maintenance on it is recommending that I do it soon! I do trust him, but I am leaving tomorrow on a 1000 mile road trip and was trying to determine if I had to get it in there today? I work there in the afternoons and he charges me really cheap on all the labor, this will cost me ($200-$250) for timing belt, water pump & misc. belts and parts will be at cost.:2: |

Honda also recommends in the owners manual that you should change it at 60K miles if you regularly drive in high temperatures (over 110F), low temperatures (under -20F), or frequently tow a trailer.
I'm sure the temperature in Phoenix isn't over 110F all the time, but it probably gets that hot once in a while. If the car is driven a lot in the summertime and you want to play it on the safe side you may want to consider changing the timing belt a little bit earlier than the 105K interval stated in the maintenance section. |

Thanks for mentioning that. I read it in the manual, then got distracted and didn't add it to my earlier posts. |

In January, I was charged $750 - most of this labor. I had all the belts replaced besides the timing belt, new water pump and coolant |
