Brake switch problem? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I've got a 2003 Pilot and both brake lights are out. Since I can't shift out of park without sticking a screw driver into the slot on top of the steering wheel, I'm guessing it's the brake switch that has failed. Can someone let me know if the brake switch is the white thing attached to the brake peddle? If anyone else thinks it is something other than the brake switch, I'm open for suggestions. Thanks.

just in case someone else experiences these symptoms, it definitely is the brake switch located on the pedal arm.

Yesterday, my 03 Pilot started not shifting (easy) out of Park. I usually can get it to after continuously stepping on the brake and wiggling the wheel. Until I can get it in, I am leaving it in neutral when off w/parking brake on, and not really driving. If I put in park and bring right back out, it seems to work fine. Is this the switch? Yesterday, brake lights were off I think, juct checked w/a friend and he claims I have break lights. Could this be intermittent?

What other possible causes are there?

Thanks in advance.
