Canada map coverage for 2005 Pilot - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hello

I'm a 1st time poster that just purchased an '05 Pilot EX-L w/ Navi from a local dealer in Ontario, Canada. It's an US vehicle that I got at a decent price considering the options and condition of the vehicle.

The (black) Navi DVD is old (ver. 2.11C) - with USA map coverage only. I'd like to make use of the Navi here in Canada. I searched the Alpine site and based on the year&model of the vehicle - there is no Canadian coverage available from Alpine.
What are my options other than getting a portable unit?
Other canadians with 05 Pilots? anyone in similar situation? what DVD do you have? how about map coverage?
thanks

Anyone know what would happen if I put in a (black) Navi DVD from a canadian 05 Pilot?
Would this lock/disable the Navi?
Or am I looking at replacing the Navi system to a "canadian compatible" one?
I asked my local dealer about this .... they don't know the answer (haven't come across this issue before).

any help/ideas are appreciated. thanks

+ 1. Just bought a 2005 White Pilot with Nav, and do not get Canada coverage either.

So the dealer sold you a Pilot with NAV (and I bet you paid a premium for NAV) but the NAV is useless because its only US.

Bit of a con but have you tried ordering an "updated" nav disk? The least the seller can do is pay the cost of this
