I looked on in horror this morning as there was a large, black puddle under my 2004 Pilot :(
I just changed the differential lubricant with Honda VTM-4 about 4 weeks ago. What came out was clean when I changed it, so I assume a little fluid is seeping by the driver's side axle seal (where axle enters differential). That must be what is making it black.
Anyway, has anyone had a similar issue, and had any luck replacing the seal?
I am going to add fluid until it is full again, just to make sure it is not run low on fluid.
I have the online service manual and impact tools, so I think I can handle the replacement.
