Low pressure sensor and warranty - Click HERE for Original Thread
Pilot4R
Hi everyone,

I purchased a new 08' Pilot a few months back and just recently went on a trip with it. On the way back the tmps low pressure light came on for one of the tires. I checked it and it was down to 20 psi when I had inflated it to around 35 prior to the trip. I filled up again and a few days later the light came on again. I havent checked the pressure yet (too busy) but assuming its low again, I'm going to have to take it in to get it fixed. Are the stock tires really thin or did I just have really bad luck and ran over a fat nail 2k miles into owning the thing? Also will the dealer fix this under warranty? When you buy tires some places include flat fixing and rotations but not sure if you can get the dealer to pay for it. Just wondering if I should waste my time bringing it into the dealer or should I just head to a tire place to get it checked out. Thanks!

Don't waste your time with the dealer. They don't want to know about it, and they don't warrant tires. You should have some insert that basically says that the tires are between you and the tire manufacturer.

Odds are you have a nail. It happens. Take it to a tire shop, and remind them not to touch the TPMS sensor or valve stem.

AND!!!!!

Don't drive for days (or even miles) with the TPMS light on without checking the tire!

It will probably feel just fine at 12 PSI or less until it shreds!

Oh yeah, what N_Jay said. Duh. You should always check your tires as soon as the TPMS comes on, not drive around like that for days. And pick up a pencil-type gauge so you fill the tire to the correct pressure. TMPS comes on when pressure goes below 26, though 32 is the correct setting.
