I never drive on cruise control but I dont believe it hurts the car. for my observation it doesn't save mpg's either.

it doesnt hurt the car.it will improve gas mileage by maintaining a set speed without constantly checking the speedometer.

Only if you zone out and rear-end the car ahead of you that's slowed down for the traffic. :2: :D :2:

No harm and it can really help with the MPG. The car is much better at making small adjustments to maintain speed any a human is.

Shouldn't hurt the car or the system to use it a lot. It should improve MPG on a relatively flat surface. It will likely do worse than manual driving if you are on an unlevel surface because it will do lots of acceleration on hills that you could have more gradually compensated for manually.

I have only had mine two days so I can't really speak to "does" versus "should" but I did use it on a level freeway at night and was able to maintain ECO mode the entire time at 70 MPH. You can accomplish that manually too, but you have to pay a lot more attention.
