| My transmission seems to act very erratic at low rpm's. You can actually feel it searching for the correct gear. Especially when accelerating slowly from a complete stop. Normal? |

| Doesn't sound normal to me. We have less than 1000 miles on Touring model, 09. I have been impressed with how smooth the transmission has been. |

I notice that too around 45 mph/1500 RPMs when it goes into overdrive... I get a slight shudder. The transmission fluid from the factory was at the low end of the "OK" range on the dipstick (between the two holes) when it was hot. I filled it up with Honda ATF-Z1 so that it was almost to the second hole/top end of the normal range when the engine is hot and the problem got a little better.
I'm not too concerned about it - in any other gear and at any other speed it shifts very smoothly so it may just be the way it is at the low end of the overdrive spectrum.
If you do need to add fluid, remember, only use Honda ATF-Z1... it is very specific about this in the manual. |

| I just picked up my 2009 2 weeksa ago. EX-L. When I am anywhere between 1500 and 2100 rpms and just need to give it a little gas, the engine what I would say, vibrates. It is quite rough. Normal? My 11 yr old Dodge Caravan was smooth as silk compared to this. |

Yes, I've noticed the same thing. I'm watching it and trying to figure out how much of it is the VCM system. A lot of what I'm feeling correlates to the ECO light coming on and going off so part of the "roughness" may be the momentary vibration when cylinders are lit up and shutdown. This is the first vehicle I've had with VCM so I don't know yet if this is the price you pay for the VCM benefit. When I go in for my first oil change I plan to test drive a new Pilot to see if it does the same thing. I'm guessing it will. |

| This isn't normal, but I have an earlier generation of the VCM system (2007). If I am paying attention I can tell the VCM is on. Maybe a little more noticeable if I put the engine under a little load cruising at 1,500 - 2,000 RPMs (this is 45-60 MPH in fifth gear for me). Some hum under load but I would say, little to no noticeable vibration. |
