Anyone with Pilot 2009 rattles? - Click HERE for Original Thread
lengds
Found some rattles on the interior of my 2009. One comes from the storage box in the floor behind the 3rd seat. I stuffed a teddy bear in it and its mostly gone. The other seems to be in second seat around the seat belt attachment passenger side on the pillar. Anyone come up with similar problems and found any solutions? Much appreciated. My 2007 had a few rattles too on the interior, but I never got around to them. My wife is really complaining about these! Thankyou, lengds

I've noticed rattling too but haven't done a detailed test yet to prove it isn't the stuff I have put in the car's various storage spaces (i.e. I haven't purged the car of all loose items and driven it a bunch). I was hoping it would be the items and I could adjust in the future but my gut was some of them didn't sound like they were loose item related.

my rear entertainment screen tends to make a little noise going over bumps etc, but other than that it has been very quiet so far.

A plastic 'tick' in the dash center control area. Hoping it will excercise out...

I also have the rattle in my rear entertainment system. It's very irritating when going over bumps. I need to get this taken care of soon.

yes I have that same rattle second row by the seatbelt area. My sunroof tilted up has a little rattle but nothing if closed.

I noticed it on my second row seatbelt area last night too. The kids said it sounded like a cricket in the car. Wehn we stopped I tried to duplicate it by pushing on surfaces or rubbing things together -- I had a theory it could be the tether of the car seat rubbing against the latch, but I don't think so. After that it didn't come back but I think it may be recurring...

I did find that by putting my hand on the ceiling lcd portion and pushing up I was able to stop the rattle that oocured when I close the drivers door. Going back to the dealer for their solution if there is one. The rattle in the rear right passenger seat belt is in the mechanism and they did not want to go there for fear of compromising the safety of its operation. Tlhanks for the leads and hope we get more. lengds

With about 400 miles and change of mixed driving in so far, I have to say the rattling isn't a big issue but it pales compared to the road noise from the tires. All of Honda's sound dampening efforts on the windows, etc. seem kind of useless when there is clearly something about their design that causes substantial noise from the tires to reach the cabin. Obviously how much depends on the road surface but it’s all much more than is typical for the other cars and SUV's I have owned. If I blast the radio very loud it overcomes it, but even with the radio at a moderate level I can still hear it. So far it is my only significant disappointment with the vehicle.

so far i find mine to be very quiet all around. no rattles unless it is something i put into the vehicle and just a tiny bit of tire noise on typical roads

No rattles or squeaks to report in my 2009 Touring model. 12,000 kms on the odometer. The car is whisper quiet and no road noise from the factory equipped Michelins.

It seems amazing that one Pilot would somehow be insulated dramatically better than another both straight out of the factory. Is it possible you're just not sensitive to the noise? This tire noise has been pretty widely reported all over the Internet and in some reviews. So if some Pilots really do manage to completely dampening it to "whisper status" then it would interesting to know what is making one vehicle off the assembly line so different than another.

I'm reporting what I experience; my Pilot was one of the very first production models and I have experienced zero issues with it. We've been on two major road trips and have racked up 12,000 kms on it. I know not all Pilots were equipped with the Michelin tires.

I got a little over 400 miles on my EXL and the road noise isn't bad when compared to my 2001 Accord. No rattles yet, fingers crossed.

I was kind of suprised that my Pilot has Good Years. My previous Honda's all had Michellens which I do prefer.

Mine has Michellens.

My owners kit in the glove compartment had brochures for both Michellen and Bridgestone (why would they include both?) so I checked the actual tires.

I am pretty sure the Touring has different tires than the EX-L and below.

I believe that up until now, the touring models have been fitted with Michelin LTX tires - that's what is on my touring. I believe that EX-L and below have been fitted with Goodyear Fortera tires - they definitely aren't Michelin.

I checked our Touring and it has the Michelins. There is quite a bit of road noise, but quieter than the 2007. In spite of the road noise issue for Honda, I would still choose it over the top rate CX-9 or the smaller Highlander. No regrets. lengds

Our Touring has Michelins and its whisper quiet going down the high way.

I'll have to agree with those reporting little to no road noise. Touring 4wd came with Michelen LTX's. Ride is comparable of our Odyssey. Only rattle came from some loose plastic CD cases in the center console when I turned a corner they flipped from leaning one way to the other. I fixed that:D .
