glodino
Hi everyone,
Time to start a group buy for the Cross Bars on the EX Roof Rack. We need 10.
Eric Amsberry
Sign me up for the roof rack crossbar! All this action on group buys, I will have the pilot decked out in no time. :D
ck55
I'm in.
jturcott
How much? I'm in
glodino
$133.90 - 10% ($13.39) + 2 handling = 122.51...
silverex
Yeah I'm in. How do I go about doing this?
tim.s
silverex,

When the group gets 10 buyers, Tim Poliniak @ hondacuraworld.com will post the info for the GB and give the okay to purchase. Be sure to check back so you don't miss it. ;)
tmcguinn1

briggs
Okay, me too.
glodino
This Pilot just doesn't look right without a cross bars on the roof rack...GRANTED I may never use it, it just looks nicer :)
HiFlyer
Count me in!
This will be my first purchase without paying full price.

Well, new2ebate, if you can convince one more person to say, "Yes" to this group buy, then we're done!! It could be tomorrow morning, or it could be next week... :8: Or, you could buy TWO and we'd be done right now... :4:
my3kids
Okay, I'll bite. We'll need them eventually.:)
gasandgo
Cont me in too. Just provide the details of how we do this. I am a rookie.

We made it!!! :4: I'll PM Tim and get this on his "To Do" list and wait for his okay... if I hear anything back from Tim, I'll post it here; otherwise, the next voice you'll hear will be Tim from Hondacuraworld.... :D
kemosabe
gasandgo: Where is Glenarm, MD???
gasandgo
Hee! Hee! Gasandgo is a female. Hence my handle which describes my treatment of vehicles. Best I can tell you is about 4 miles east of Towson MD. Above Loch Raven Dam.
kemosabe
Okay, heard back from Tim and he has ok'ed this Group Buy... this is when he will post it on the hondacuraworld.com web site: "I'm going to wait till the current buy clears to put the next one up."

So, stay tuned to this thread for updates..."
my3kids
Any word on when we'll be able to order these?
glodino
Tim said this friday we can buy it.
silverex
I won't get a chance to order until Sunday afternoon. I hope it's not down by then!

You should be okay... the group buys tend to stay up on the web site for about a week or so!! :4:
hondacuraworld
I'm going to post up this buy this morning.

Now, just so everyone's aware, I will be shipping the stock I have until depleted, but please do not "expect" shipment on any crossbar order until Monday April 21. That's not saying that I won't be shipping them out as quickly as regular orders while I have stock, but I'm learning from group buy experience that things seem to go out of stock a lot more quickly than I expect, no matter how many I order in.

But that's a good thing, right?
hondacuraworld
Well, sure, of course. That announcement is simply what I'd call a "CYA".

We can't always be the Acme Corporation ;)
my3kids
Ordered mine!
glodino
Since I started this group buy, can ya ship mine out first :p

Besides, I'm not good with a screwdriver. Will need a headstart on installing it.
jturcott
ordered mine 9:30 am Friday.

Tim ok to send glodino's first :)

:2:
HiFlyer
Thanks Tim.
I ordered mine as well.
I agree with jturcott, please send glodino's first. Since Glodino is bad with screwdriver, could you throw-in a couple of rolls of scotch tape in the order, it may help finish the job.

:2:
tmcguinn1
got mine, too!

first group buy! guess i'm turning into a real pilothead and i don't even have my car back from the shop!
new2ebate
I can wait a few days. Still trying to accumulate accessories :)
gasandgo
Ok
Exactly how do you do this . Is there a special area on the web site that you enter to purchase. How do you indicate it is a group buy?

See, here's the problem......how do I connect the real name with the screen name?

In some cases it's easy, others aren't quite so simple :)
Honda_Pilot
By including a "Honda-Pilot.org screen name" field to your web site. You know the screen where you ask for name, address, credit card number? Add another field and make it optional.

That should work.
ck55
I've been out of town, but I'm ordering mine tonight. Thanks to all who helped with the instructions on how to get it done.

What people don't realize is that in those vehicle info fields down at the bottom, you can basically type in anything you want.

No dirty messages unless they'll make me laugh :D
jturcott
Thanks Tim.

Received my splash guards & cross bars on Tuesday after ordering them last Friday morning.

Now I have something to do when I'm @ my mother-in-law's down @ the Jersey shore this weekend.

I filed my tax return @ midnight last night. My refund is about $250 bucks...roughly the cost of the cross bars..thank you Uncle Sam :)
my3kids
Holy Moly....There's no instructions! I got the cross bars today and went straight to the shipper's website to print the directions.....They aren't there! What do I do with these things now?:(

Broken links on my site

Time to call the webmaster
my3kids
Thanks! I'm printing as I type. But...a quick glance makes me think this is going to be a higher beer payment cost for my husband than the rear splash guards were......

I think it's LOOKS worse than it is... From what I understand, the end caps are a bit of a challenge. Beer - buy more beer! :4:

It is not hard at all. I received my crossbars this afternoon and installed them in under one hour. The toughest part for me was to climb up on the roof of the Pilot. I was worried that my body weight (165 lbs) would put dimples in the roof. After I put the crossbars in place, I sat on the roof to finish the job. Here is a PIC!
silverex
I wonder where my cross bars are? I've been billed but me no get mine...

silverex: Tim Poliniak doesn't always get a chance to log on and check every thread, so your best bet is to contact him and ask him about your order's status:

  1. hondacuraworld@aol.com (24/7)
  2. 1-888-RAY-LAKS (Mon - Fri 7am-5pm EST)

Good luck!!! :)

Please remember, I posted here and on the actual Special, that orders will be shipped on Monday April 21/Tuesday April 22nd
ck55
I got mine today! Thanks Sage for the link to the instructions. Now, all I need is to pick-up the two torx bits and I'm ready for the install.
glodino
Okay, finally found a weekend to do the install. Anyone have the link to the forum that discuss installing this, can't find it now.

You sat on the roof ? Are you crazy, lol , did you do any damage, I'd recommend a ladder next time, the last thing you want to do is put large shallows in the roof.
glodino
SUCCESSSSSS....

IT WAS EASSSSYYYYYY.....SO DON"T BE AFRAID.....

I didn't even know what a TORX bit was till I started....took me about 30 minutes once I started.....

Key is to read the board/instructions so you have a game plan.

THANKS TO ALL.
