| No it's made by the Historic division of Gibson's custom shop. They try to copy the construction of their highly prized guitars from the 50's and early 60's. |

| Awesome dude! I used to have a 1976 Gibson Les Paul e issue. It was a Tabaco Sunburst with a double cutaway. I traded it later for my Guild Jumbo with maple back and sides. |

| Good form too, notice the spread he's getting with his fret hand and the formation of his fingers picking the strings. Nice finger style action, he'll be a pro someday. |

That guitar is schweet. I still play the same Japanese Strat copy my parents bought me when I was 16. Now that I can afford a nice guitar, I don't play enough to justify it.:( |

Hey let's keep this guitar thread going! I'll post more later. Love guitar, classical and folk, with a little banjo and mandolin thrown in just for show! We made our living room into a music parlor so it would get more use. Someday I'll post some pics if I ever have a spare moment.:7: |

my kid has been playing viola for 5 years he's in middle school. Six months ago he decided he wanted a guitar first was acoustic Ibanez, loved it, then Ibanez SA candy apple red then a 100 watt Marshall.
He's saving for Boss special effects. He is loving it but has gone from 1st chair viola to 5th. Oh well he's sounding good.
He's got his eye on a Les Paul but Dad says work on your technique not my pocketbook.

Got to be some good teachers in Philly or Bucks County area. There's also videos and DVDs that can be very helpful for beginners. We're in Hunterdon County so we get over to Bucks County every once in a while. It's amazing how much good folk music there is in Bucks County.
The banjo (or Merrywang) has such a wonderful cheerful and surprising sound, I just love it but don't play it that much to really be any good at it. I actually have a 6-string (which I can play like a guitar) and a 5-string that I play around with every once in a while.
