1. I am unable to post anything in the "home page news" forum...is this normal?
2. The forum only has one moderator. Is this by design?

Here is how it works.
The Home Page News forum is designed as a tool for members to post info on the home page. Because it is a home page, we need to check postings before they are visible in either the home page or the Home Page News forums. Moderators can use their powers to either approve a posting or reject it (delete it).
I will be adding all the moderators to that forum.
There is one problem with this approach however, which I wish vbulletin would fix soon: once you set the forum to be moderated, you can specify that you only want to moderate first posts (start of a thread). This means that we (moderators) have to moderate every single post that's posted in that forum. I will look into fixing/hacking that functionality.
Again, what I would like to achieve is something similar to http://www.slashdot.org/ in functionality. |

Thanks for the new info!!! Still a bit confused on one item though.
It seems to make sense that the first post (initial thread) is moderated. Do you mean that the default is that each subsequent post must be moderated and that is what you plan to hack?
