2004 Pilot at Invoice price - Click HERE for Original Thread
arunpilot
Today I got an email from DavidMcDavid Irving, TX (Dallas) about the sale on Oct10 and Oct11. The sale is, any 2003 or 2004 Honda at or below invoice. I took the email to the dealership and purchased my 2004 EXL Beige Pilot. The only catch is, they forced me to the "Environmental Protection plan" for $600. The EPP is worth for about $300. But still 2004 EXL at 28829($600 over invoice including the EPP) is the greatest deal for a EXL Honda pilot. Also this sale applies to only the vehicles in stock. Luckily they had the exact car I was looking for. Initially, I thought that they are sellng their old stock, but to my surprice, the Pilot I bought, just shipped last week with a Inspection sticker for Oct 2003. They are very strict about the email printout though. I have the email with me. I can forward the email but you might have to edit the email to have your name on it.

Isn't invoice around $27,000 on an EX-L?
arunpilot
The invoice for 2004 EXL is 27,771.00 + 460 Destination charge = 28,231.00. I payed 28829 which is approximtely $600 more than invoice. I got the EPP program for $600.

BEIGE?!!

That's SandStone , pardner. :1:

Congratulations and good luck. :D
arunpilot
Just took delivery of my SandStone Metallic pilot. I made the dealer reduce the price by another $200 as they overcharged the "protected plan for the leather & Exterior". So effectively I payed Invoice + $400 (for EPP).
I was surprised that my pilot handles curves and sudden lane changes really good and pretty close to my '98 Civic Coupe.
marlex25
Hi I'm strongly considering the pilot. Could you send me the email and is good in the Northeast
arunpilot
The email was from a local dealer in Dallas. The sale was over by saturday. But I can ask my sales person to see if thay can still honor it and can they deliver it to Northeast. Give me your EX/LX/EXL/color preference and I can check with my sales person and let you know.

I don't know about the '98 Civic Coupe, but the Pilot did get a better emergency manuver score than the '03 MDX (with VSA) by Consumer Reports. In a large vehicle, a more sporty ride isn't necessarily a safer ride.

BTW, congrats on your new ride!

I like to buy one now. Could you forward your email to me and give me your sale person name and phone number?

That sale was over on Saturday. But give me your mail ID. I can email you. Give me your LX/EX/EXL/color preference and I can talk to my sales person and let you know.

It's a good deal!!! Enjoy your new ride.:18:

I drive both my '03 Pilot and '92 Prelude everyday, Pilot to send/pick up my daughter to/from babysitter, and Prelude to/from work. :2: I enjoy both rides that give me completely different feel.
arunpilot
juny_fan,

I left a message to my sales person about your preference, i will get back to you after i hear from him.
arunpilot
Looks like David Mc David will not ship the Pilot out of state at their expense. And the sale at invoice price is over and they climbed up to $2000 off MSRP again.

No. They offered $3100 less than the kbb trade in value. I did not sell my old car to them. CarMax offered $800 less than KBB value. I think I can sell it close to or greater than KBB value if i sell it my self.

My old Car is 1998 Civic EX
VTMpower
getting a Pilot for close to invoice is unheard in the northeast, trust me I tried

Yeah, I just noticed that they said "up to 120%." I sold my car privately and got $500 more that I expected...

Agree on the prices in the Northeast - I got my Pilot EX for $1250 off MSRP, best I could find and we only got that because we had a personal relationship with the GM at a local dealership.

Can anybody tell me what's the invoice price for 2004 LX/EX?

Thanks!

No deals in the Northeast, best I could get is $500 off MSRP. My Wife and I are flying out to Ohio (www.vosshonda.com ask for Wally) to pick up our 2004 Pilot EXL-RES in Midnight Blue. Price $30433, saved me a lot of money. Thank god I work for an airline, they are even going to pick us up from the airport!!!:2:

We sent out 18 emails to dealers in NH,MA,NY,VT,and ME. NO deals at all.

You're including destination charge, right? Has it been determined if the dest charge is the same across the country? In Miami it's $490.

Yes, destination charge is a standard $490 (for the 2004) and $460 (for the 2003)... :)

Hey... just picked up my redrock pearl pilot at $27,502. (500 over invoice). But there is also- the "Dealer Fee" of $279 tacked on on top of that. I know its pure profit for the Dealer- but I am curious to hear if the rest of you guys have seen this fee as well.

Did you pay it?

:p

No. I negotiated for 400 over invoice, regardless of what line items were on the bill. Since my dealer had a $399 fee that was hard-written into the bill, they had to REDUCE the base price by that amount the make it equal out.

I find it hard to believe that everybody is getting these Pilots for so cheap. To get any kind of a discount in the Northeast is difficult. Again, I just find it hard to believe that there is such a difference in the market.

Market pricing in action.
VTMpower
yeah, tell me about it. But if you want the best SUV out there I guess your gonna have to pay for it. After all you get what you pay for.

2004 EX-L Invoice was $31360 we added the auto rear view mirror and paid $31106. Bought in Danbury, Conn. I thought it was a fair price. I live in NY but the NY dealers SUCK! They are like dealing with Frank Rizzo (Jerky Boys). We love our Pilot!
VTMpower
invoice price is not $31360 there Jbudd, thats MSRP, invoice is right around $28300. Basically you got a $500 discount on your pilot, which isn't that bad. Good job.
dbudds
SORRY dude. But one thing is still for sure. NY dealers SUCK.
VTMpower
one thing is for sure, im glad that I purchased my pilot when I did, there are some dealers out there that want to charge over MSRP, I did a bit of homework and I saw that they are selling for $500 above MSRP according to kelly blue book. My friends whos interested isn't too happy with that. I actuall sent him to the dealership that I went too, they are actually taking really good care of him there.
FLYI.COM
Try Wally at Voss Honda in Tipp City, OH. We just picked up our EXL-RES for $800 over invoice, pretty good deal. No one in the NorthEast would come down off of MSRP.

My 2cents,

I phoned and faxed offers on a 2004 Honda Pilot Ex with cloth for $27,500. (700 over invoice, includes $460 delivery charge) I got three serious replies from about 12 dealers.
AussieTX
White EX-L for invoice price. $27770.83 plus 490 destination. And of course the bloody 6.25% Texas sales tax.
Honda order code YF1854ENW.
Picked it up last Tuesday December 30th.
Followed the directions I got from www.fightingchance.com and faxed approx 25 dealers. The local dealer ended up matching the offer of invoice price that I got from another dealer approx 3 hours away.
I urge anyone in the market for a Pilot to try the above web site before trying to buy. I never even went to a show room and never had to put up with any BS from a salesman. They all called me and made me the offers. It was actually enjoyable. The web site charges you $30 for the information on how to buy with all invoice prices and current dealer incentives and how to use the "Fax Attack". I first thought it a joke but tried it anyway and it saved me hundreds.
Cheers

I accompanied my co-worker to Nelson Honda last Sunday and he got a 2004 Honda Pilot EX-L for $30.650.00 out the door including destination charge, sales tax, registration fee.
