| I've seen responses to posts where quotes from the previous post were "snipped". How do you do that? |

In the reply you wish to quote, click on "Quote" - lower right corner.
This will bring you to a reply screen where the quoted reply is bracked by the following: QUOTE and /QUOTE - both enclosed in square brackets.
I highlight the text I don't want retained, press return, type in [snipped] followed by return, i.e., all you are doing is editing the quoted reply.
Then I type my desired text. |

Also make sure you put your reply to the quote after of the [/quote] tag. Otherwise your reply will end up inside the quote and look like it was part of the original message you are quoting. |

And most people put their reply below the quoted statement, not above... :p
