Can we change our dealer ratings? - Click HERE for Original Thread
Mark B
I went to my regular dealer (Honda of Turnersville in NJ) for the 15,000 service this week. All of the service advisors are new and I didn't see the service manager that's been there for years. None of the advisors seemed to know much about the Pilot. They didn't know that the rear differential took special fluid until a mechanic came out and explained it to them!

Question: How can we edit or change our dealer ratings? This service dept doesn't deserve the great rating I originally gave them.

Sorry, I don't see a way to do it.

Admin/TheWorm, is there a way to edit???

I know you can only have one rating. What I can't remember is what happens if you try again. Originally, the newer rating would supercede the old (that goes for scores and for commentary). I don't remember whether admin changed it to prohibit >1 rating/comment or if it still overwrites the old.

Only way to tell is to try, I suppose. Unless admin checks in to let us know.

Sorry to jump into the discussion like this w/out an answer, but this is a question for the Admin as well. I was just wondering if dealer ratings for Canada will be implemented anytime soon? I'm willing to get the list for all the dealers in Canada, which would be considerably less than what the States have anyway, and I'll even put it in the JS form, again not big whoop.

Daniel, I know you're very busy and also, this isn't at all anything urgent for me. Just thought it'd be nice to get the same feature up for us Canuckleheads :D Lemme know. Thanks.

Well I have even less to offer to the discussion other than to say that I LOVE the dealer rating section of the website and wish we could start encouraging more people to use it.

Regarding the dealer rating discussion, however, I wonder if it might be more interesting to allow someone to add a second or third rating or comment rather than changing their one comment and rating. This might be more 'real world.' In other words, I'd rather see that someone had good and bad experience at a service department, rather than just see an angry zero rating as the result of one experience. Just a thought.

Thanks again, Daniel, for such a great website. Not only has it proven to be an invaluable source of information, but it's a lot of fun too!

I tried adding a new comment and it worked! (but see note below) I like robrecht's idea of adding comments rather than changing old comments. If the new service advisors at my dealer become much better in the future, I'll rate them again.

I added the date that the comment is about. I think the date the comment was entered should be automatically added to all comments. And maybe allow the user to override the automatic date to put in the date that they went to the dealer.

Note:
Worm: I wasn't stopped from adding a second comment, but I know that my first comment was entered from either my home PC or my old work PC, and today I'm using my new work PC. So checking the IP address doesn't always work...

OK, I just tried it. It checks duplicates by IP (as MarkB mentioned).

It'll overwrite your old rating w/the new one:

quote:
Thank you for your review! PLEASE NOTE: According to our records, you've already rated this dealership. Your previous rating has been replaced with the most recent one.

So if you're updating ratings and, especially, commentary, I'd suggest a copy n paste of your original rating before creating the new one, so the info/commentary remains intact.
