| This morning I tried several times to get on from Honda-Pilot.org with no luck. The site works fine through hondapilot.org. Just wanted to let someone know know about it. |

I had the same problem starting last night and again this morning. I went over into the MDX site and sent a note to TheWorm. Next, I tried removing the "-" between Honda and Pilot (which had been dropped some time back) and I was able to get in.
Go figure!!!

| I think it's the death of www.honda-pilot.org. When I first joined, there was only h-p.org, but it seems it's no more. There was a short pang of disappointment, but I figured, it's just a name. HP.org still brings me to the same great site of ours :D |

| I was silently wondering about this with respect to license plate holdes and window stickers. Should we leave off the dash now when we tell people about the site? |

Seems like when we moved to the new server, ADMIN mentioned this change (to remove the dash). I could not find the thread to see if there was any more info.
TheWorm/Admin: Can you add anything??
TIA |

I thought it was just a comment about either/or re: "the dash" and not a transition to just one of those. The domain name is paid for, afterall.
I think it's probably a DNS failure somewhere...since the site is obviously accessible via the alternate URL.
FWIW I can't even ping or tracert www.honda-pilot.org, although I did manage to get in once or twice yesterday evening, but not without tremendous difficulty.
 |

| It seemed like a DNS thing all day but this site was the only one I couldn't get to. Thought the DNS registration had expired. :p |

Yes, it's a DNS problem. Both domains are delegated to phpwebhosting.com, but it seems that they have dropped the honda-pilot.org zone from their name servers, but not the hondapilot.org zone. Note the SERVFAIL in the second response below:

Glad to see I wasn't the only one experiencing problems....was starting to get worried that our little forum here had shut down for some crazy reason.
Now that I got in through Google, I see that the infamous hyphen has disappeared. Gee, all of us who just received our hyphenized license plate frames will be misrepresenting the site address. Or are we going back to the hyphen??? I'm confused. |

I finally located the thread I had been looking for that ADMIN started when we switched servers. Here it mentions that each address should continue to work. I hope so, since many of our embedded links in different posts are broken too at this point!!! |

Hi all.
As some of you figured we are having some DNS issues, which means that honda-pilot.org (note the dash) will be unavailable.
And not, it's not the death to honda-pilot.org. I'll keep that domain for a while.
I'll make an update once I get a response from my hosting company.

| Is anyone else having problems logging on directly to this site? If I try and log on directly, I get nothing. But I can log on indirectly by responding to an email on a thread I am following. Is this just a West Coast problem? I got an email from another member in Northern California having problems logging on too. |

The issue has been fixed. It may take from 8 to 12 hours for the fix to propagate.
I'll work on the smilies tonight.
