I know that this is an infrequented area of the site, but as per the above stickied thread, I am posting here.
Has anyone noticed the abundance of "sticky" threads on this site?
I think that although these threads are useful and important, frequently they just distract you from the important threads below.
Some of the sticky threads have not been active for over half a year!
Moderators: I suggest that if a sticky thread has not been active for at least two months, it should be "de-stickified."
Any thoughts?

| Totally disagree. If new members would review the sticky threads first, we wouldn't get so many new threads that have to be merged somewhere else, or emails or PMs to the most active members, who point someone back to another thread. :p |

Okay. If the sticky threads are intended for new members, why isn't there a 'new members' section that has all the pertinent info?
Thanks for the prompt reply.

There is a "new member ask here instead of starting a new thread" thread. I've addressed many questions, and pointed new members to the other discussions from that thread.:4: Take a look here. |

| I hardly ever notice the stickies, since I use the "today's new threads" search almost exclusively. |

Okay, but I mean a thread with directions , helpful tips, and suggestions exclusively meant for new members. Stuff like "pics for you pokey dial-up members" etc...
