How many miles when you went in for the transmission recall? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I wonder how many are in the "high mileage" category. Please vote in the poll after you get your appointment for inspection.

did anyone even get the notice in the mail yet? or are you guys just taking it in without the notice?
tim.s
I'm waiting for the notice. Okay, I know it's early, but some members have said they were already making appointments for the inspection. I figured this topic would be coming up soon.

I happened to be in the town where I snagged my Pilot so I just stopped in. I got a clean bill of health - but that was the dealer, I'm waiting to hear from the mothership (Honda).

Okay,

who is the one who has 90k+ on their pilot? (poll indicates 1) that's pretty amazing. Also, a pretty cool source of potential tranny issues (pre-repair) that could have cropped up. . . .

i have a friend who has an lx model 03 and he has 72k on his pilot..he does light towing{open trailer uhaul type stuff}..he says he has no problems with his tranny at all.......he didnt even know about the recall.....

I tow a camping trailer, and summer camping season is coming, so I will no longer wait for the letter and just make an appointment and take the car in.
If they ask me if I have the letter, I will tell them I've the their letter right here... hehehe. Actually maybe I will just print the letters posted in the tranny recall thread and take it...

What do you think?

I have 26K on it now.

Recall completed at 36,150 miles - no heat damage observed.

The service guy said they have only seen damage on trannys with over 50k miles and I think they were all Odysseys.

I went in, and they did other recalls.

They did SRS recall, timing belt tensioner recall, rear brake TSB, and the tranny recall. No damage to tranny.

My friend had MDX with 70K, and his car required another tranny, he also had his engine mount replaced, last week.

I took mine in with 8800 miles. it happens that it was the day before I received the recall notice in the mail.

When the service writer told me it was finished, he said proudly 'it all checked out Ok, no problems at all'. I said great, took the keys and left.

They must enjoy telling people whatever they feel we might believe a t the time. Since the TSB says that if a vehicle has less than 15k miles they will just add the oil jet kit without taking any pictures, so of course mine would 'check out just fine'. He also told me it was a 3 hour job when I checked in, but it ended up as 2.5 hours, still about twice what it should have taken.

I'll save my Pilot knowledge that I gain from this forum for an important issue, when it comes up. No reason to argue or even discuss a non issue with him, until it's something important, like a money issue or non performance of a warranty claim.

Weird, I just found this thread and it was posted back in April. Anyway, just FYI, mine had something like 50,000KM/31,000miles when it went in. They performed the photo inspection and said that the color was just fine, so, they just installed the jet kit. I'll just have to take their word for it. I couldn't get that day off or even the morning off to be there that day. Darn!!!

mine had 17,000:cool:
