Now that we have determined that we are trying to conserve gas, the next question IMO is - How are we doing this?
Are you driving smarter, together or slower

A very similar poll was started a day earlier here.

I am taking my mountain bike. Spent $300 last year for it and have been riding it to work since April of this year.

Ziploc's poll is asking, Are you attempting to conserve gas and to what degree? This poll is asking how you are conserving gas?

Personally, I am consolidating my trips as well as driving a bit slower. In 60 - 70 mph zones I stay at least 5mph below the speed limit. I've tried this on 2 tanks of gas and have noticed a slight increase in fuel economy (1/2 to 3/4 mph). I know this doesn't seem like much, but every little bit helps. Just think about the downstream effect if every car in the U.S. got only 1/2 mph better fuel economy.

I wish I could carpool or join a vanpool, but when I signed up with Commuter Connections and the car/van pool list at my work, neither could find anything for me... :headshak:

I did a few things, driving slower, driving smarter I put a relay under my gas pedal. For an explanation on the relay thing, see my other post here:

the only time I conserve is while at work and my car sits in the parking lot.
