| It all started yesterday. All of a sudden the forum would just not load. At first I thought it was me only. So I tested out a few other sites and they all worked just fine. Then a few other members told me that they also had the problem. Fine, just a bug I guess. Then this morning I come home from work and again it was slow to load the page. What's up with that? |

Bet it is all the disk thrashing caused by the Gigs of posts being stored.
We need to delete a bunch of the usless stuff to make more room for the "thongs" thread. :2: |

| For last couple of weeks I am having similar problems. Most times when this happens I get a page full of some sql messages. Some lines in the text indicate I am exceeding the limit on the number of connections (only 40?). I sent a copy of this to the Admin. Haven't heard anything in response so far :( |

It's running pretty quick for me today. Yesterday it was slow and sometimes nonresponsive, with an occassional SQL error page (lots of lines like ChipUser's talking about). I get that type of error every few days.
admin gets an automated email whenever the database breaks, along with those we might send him. I imagine he gets enough that there's no time to reply to all of 'em (esp since he's got the regular job and is fixing stuff here). I believe he's created something to automagically fix it at regular intervals, but until that runs it stays broken.
Presumably these issues will be resolved with the reload of the software on the new server he just bought. |

| Over the past 4-5 days, from time to time, the responsiveness of the site was pretty sluggish, followed by the SQL errors, and then things would seem normal again -- only to repeat itself later on... :8: |

Does anyone else get "You are not authorized to view this page" as a banner when viewing any of the forums? |

Come to think of it, I did notice that error message appeared on the "Thong" thread. Considering my gender, I might be tempted to think that the software running hp.org knew what it was doing in furnishing me that message...... :p |

Well, if the software were smart enuff to determine your gender, it would need to be smart enuff to also determine your sexual orientation before banning you from the thongs thread... ;) |
