Welcome. Congratulations. Don't forget to add your VIN to the master VIN list on this forum. VIN Table
Are you looking for advice on:
1) What beaches to go to for fishing, etc.?
If so, then let us know which coast you're on. South? West? East? North?
2) What to do to your Pilot or with your Pilot related to fishing?
If so, then some of those 'organ pipes' you see on trucks in North Carolina would be cool?
3) How to fish?
If so, sorry can't help you with that one.
Welcome, and enjoy your Pilot. |

It's things I can do to or buy for my Pilot related to beach activity/fishing that I'm interested in. I'm on the New England coast.
Also, what is the purpose of the master VIN list? |

You'll certainly want the all weather mats, and probably cargo tray. Keeps the sand out of your carpets. I love my all weather mats. Also take a look at wwong's dead pedal cover to stick to that naked area that the floor mats miss, before it gets worn down by your foot.
We're river fishermen here, so I couldn't be much help with the beach fishing.
Here's a photo of my all weather mat & dead pedal combo. Protect your clean new baby!: |

Sure, the all season mats and cargo tray that have already been mentioned are good. Someone on the list also uses a rooftop basket for their Canoeing/Kayaking gear. By the time they get home, the gear is dry. Great idea.
The VIN list originally began from a thread, "What number is your Pilot?" and apparently just grew from there. The original motivation was to "compare VINs, colors, see what other Pilots were built around the same date as yours!"
Now, it's an interesting compilation of Pilots in North America and elsewhere, and a good way to see how many Pilots are 'represented' on this forum. It's fully optional to add yours to the list, but it has typically been a 'rite of passage', 'orientation activity', 'courtesy posting' for new members. Your choice.
Enjoy your new Pilot. |

Early on, the master VIN table was being used to identify if certain early production problems had a relationship with VIN / production date. |

And this link was one of the original threads that havasu started and maintained that gives a little background on the VIN table... |
