Just missed the Transmission recall... any others? - Click HERE for Original Thread
bstickler
Hi,

Even though I bought my 03 Pilot back in June of 2003, my VIN (...601250) seems to fall past the recall VINS (those before 546877). Was I just lucky?

Anyway, I have about 11K on it now and have only had oil change and minor service. I have had no problems ....
Have I missed any other recalls that I should get done?

Sorry, but I am pretty sure that ALL 2003 model year Pilots are affected by the recall. I think the VINs you are citing are associated with the 2004 models

bstickler - Your info about the tranny recall is wrong. All 2003 model and part of 2004 model are included in the tranny recall. On the 2004 model year, the VIN# ranges from 2HKYF18_ _ 4H500001 thru 2HKYF18_ _ 4H546877.

Go to http://www.honda.com

Find the 'Owner Link' box on the lower left of the screen, click it and register your Pilot. In the registration process you'll be asked for your VIN. After all the data has been inputed you'll be able to find out about other recalls involved with your vehicle.

There are other features of the 'Owner Link' that you can explore. Some useful, some not.

I'm curious and wonder what the 'OL' reports on recalls for your Pilot. I've got an '04 and it shows "There are no current safety recalls for your 2004 Honda Pilot". I'm wondering if ONLY safety recalls are mentioned and other issues may be skipped.

Thanks for the info all! I just registered at honda.com and looks like I am one of the lucky ones that is affected by this recall.

Can I just take my Pilot to the dealer to get this taken care of? I haven't recieved any notice from Honda yet.

Can anyone share how long it took for the dealer to take care of this?

TIA

Thanks for the owner link. I must have gone there at one time, because I have an account already. Under recalls it had
Automatic Transmission Second Gear Inspection
SRS Control Unit (airbag program)

it did not show
Timeing Belt Auto-Tensioner Safety Recall
which surprised me. No other recalls were shown. Since I have never been notified of any of these, I wonder what is going on?
