Why would someone group eveyone buying a particular vehical over 40 as "old" when that is not much above the mean for ALL vehicle owners?

Oh yea, He must not be old enough to understand population distribution.

Sorry young-one!

Sorry young-one!

I understand population distribution. Having been born at the apex of the baby boom, with more babies born that year than before or since, I see the impact of the boomers' progression on society. I stood in line to get into elementary school, I stand in line now (albeit figuratively in traffic) to get to work, and I'll probably be in line for the burial plot. Such is the life of a boomer.

I resent being classed as old. I'm a baby boomer and I fight growing old every day. Probably some young wippersnapper set up those age groups......................

you're fighting it...? it's gonna happen, it's happening everyday, deal with it... :p

the minute you are born, you begin to die... wasn't that a quote from somewhere...?
Diesel
sorry about the double poll, but that was over a year ago, and now some of you might have jumped an age bracket... :D

Ah, A joke.

I remember those!
:2: :2: :2:

The issue in my eyes (with fading eyesight) is that the ranges do not properly segment the likely or expected population.

But lots of newbies in market research make the same mistake.

Some even make it to their second year!:4:

I know this little saying is hoary with age itself, but the older I get, the more I appreciate its truth...

Age is, more than anything, a state of mind.

N_Jay, that is damn funny, at least to another geek!

A friend of mine pointed out hex birthdays when I was 32 and he said I was really 20 in hex. He said it was worth his while to explain hex to his 31 year old girlfriend and that she was 1F, which of course is sounded out as "One Fox". He wisely waited until that year rather than calling her "One Easy" the year before, or "One Dog" before that!

There are only two kinds of people in the world - those who divide the world into two kinds of people, and those who don't.

As for hexadecimal, I never got that new-fangled base, and I'm too ashamned to post my age in octal.

I prefer the last category title to be "Experienced". I am in that category but will not vote as long as it says "Old"!

I still vcan't believe that anyone putting a poll together for what is principally aimed as a family vehicle would put over 40 as old.

It shoudl have been more like.

16-21 Driving parents Pilot, or spoiled
21-25 Style concious and can't afford a Bling-Bling SUV
25-35 Want a family car and don't want a mini-van
35-45 Need a family car and don't want a mini-van
45-55 Need a mini-van and don't want to admit it
55-65 Need to down-size and don't want to admit it
65-75 Used to a big vehicle and refuse to change
75 and up Get out of my way, Kid!

Oh boy...I'm just starting to enjoy life and you classify it as OLD!
Rico
N_Jay....that was hilarious.

John802, do you dive recreationally or are you a commercial diver. I am a Navy diver. My main job is with the Bomb Squad though.

My hat is to you...You guys are the best!

BTW, I'm a Padi certified master diver for the past 19 1/2 years and I've dive recreational for the past 28 yrs. There are 2 members here that are active recreational scuba divers that I know(FLPilot and Fireflock).

Same here.

I've been told repeatedly that I don't act my age. Why should I?

AWSOME I'M ONE OF THE 2.05% OF THE PILOT OWNERS UNDER 21, AT 17!

Say, old isn't all bad, just maybe most of you are not old enough. Now we go where we want when we want and don't have to WORK. Hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and a 05 pilot to get us there and back in comfort. Hate to say it, but we even get into the national parks etc. free.
striper1rn
45...but it's 2:45am........................make that 75:o
