How many miles per year will you average on your Pilot? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Great news everyone!

I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Allstate. ( I was with state farm for about 6 yrs and saved about $450 a yr between 1 car and our homeowners insurance)

But the real reason I am posting this poll is because the agent asked about usage, I stated that I get a company vehicle and my wife (a homemaker) drives the vehicle about 10k / yr.

Had our Pilot just a couple of days shy of 4 weeks now and it has 1150 miles. And that's with us avoiding driving it, when we are all together as a family, we try and take my vehicle, to try and save the "newness" of the Pilot and also the wear and tear and to keep the miles down (really anal I know - call me a weirdo).

So, anyway, based on previous vehicle(s) we average about 15 - 18k a yr on a vehicle, and my wife doesn't even work...... I thought that's actually a relatively high amount of miles, as the factory warranty will be up in about 2 yrs!

So how many miles per yr do you all average on your Pilot, and why so many (or so few)?

less than 5k /yr
5,000 - 7,500 /yr
7,501 - 10,000 /yr
10,001 - 12,000 /yr
12,001 - 15,000 /yr
15,001 - 18,000 /yr
18,001 - 20,000 /yr
20,001 - 25,000 /yr
more than 25,000 /yr

Yikes - we're at 9K in less than 3 months!

wee miles.

I've owned my Pilot since January 5, 2003, and only have racked up 15K.
My husband and I are on opposite work schedules so we rack all our miles on the poor little 94 Civic VX, leaving the family car at home with the family. We get more than twice the mileage in the Civic that my whole family won't fit into. So If our Civic replacement is a larger car, then I'm sure the Pilot will be driven more. We bought our Pilot to keep for the long haul 10+ years, and I'm convinced at this rate, she'll last us a lot longer than that.
It's kind of nice to have a nearly 2 year old car that's practically brand new. But I sure would like to drive it more, what a smooth ride she is:4:

Let's see. Purchased Oct 02 and now at 7K or an average of 3,500 miles per year.

I average about 35,000 a year.

Got the Pilot in Aug 02, it has over 71k on it now. . . .still runs like a top.

Ditto, here. :4: Only I switched from Geico, after being with them for about 17 years. I have my homeowner's insurance with Allstate, also, and Geico just couldn't/wouldn't touch the rates that I got from Allstate for 2 cars AND a new teen driver. I couldn't be more pleased.

Purchased June, 2002.

Today I have nearly 35K Miles.

I don't drive very far to work, only 10 miles. It's the summer road trips that run it up. The biggest being the two week road trip to New Mexico and back in summer 2003. I racked up over 4000 miles in two weeks! :D
